'The City trumpeters, banners, sword-bearers, sheriffs, lord mayor, aldermen, captains, and companies, in armour, with Royal banners, noblemen, and minstrels precede the Duke of Lancaster's banner, and the entry, attended with their knights, of Bolingbroke and the captive King on horseback...Bolingbroke then rejoined "My Lords and friends, here is King Richard: I deliver him into your custody, and beg you to do with him what you wish"...poor Richard himself appears, and is received by the people with ominous silence.
