Miss Margaret Geddes, daughter of Sir Aukland Geddes, left her home in Kensington for St. Peter's Church, Eaton Square, London, where she was married quietly to Prince Ludwig of Hesse, brother and successor of the Grand Duke of Hesse, who was killed with his family in the Osten air crash. The wedding was previously postponed owing to the deaths of Prince Ludwig's father, the late Grand Duke, and Sir Eric Geddes, uncle of the bride. Grand Duke George, his wife, mother and two sons were killed when the Sabena plane in which they were flying to London for the wedding, crashed near Ostend after striking a chimney in thick fog.
