Sarah Siddons (1755-1831), English actress, 1911-1912. Endowed with a noble manner and resounding voice, Siddons performed mainly Shakespearean roles. Her finest role was that of Lady Macbeth and her farewell performance was in this role in 1812. She was considered by many to be the finest tragic actress of her time.
