Weihrelief mit zwei Ohren, Marble, chiseled, Total: Height: 24 cm; Width: 29,2 cm; Depth: 8 cm; Weight: 11,9 kg, Reliefs, votive offerings, body parts, Late Classicism (Greek antiquity), The rectangular block has a recessed image field with the representation of a human pair of ears. The back as well as the top and bottom are roughly worked off. The sides were straightened with a toothed chisel. So far, some of these votive reliefs have become known, which were once placed in a sanctuary with the request for healing or as thanks for a recovery from an ear disease granted by the gods. The votive relief was intended for the 'hearing gods' (gr. theoi epekooi). Whether the consecration took place in one of the great healing sanctuaries like Epidauros or Kos can no longer be determined.
