Bradley aged 18 and half years. His measures in the caption are: height 7 feet 8 inches, chest circumference 4 feet 8 inches, width of hand 5.25 inches, foot length 15.5 inches, weight 375 pounds. William Bradley (February 10, 1787 - May 30, 1820) is the tallest recorded British man that ever lived, measuring 7 feet 9 inches tall. He was the fourth son in a family of thirteen and weighed 14 pounds at birth. He travelled with a group of showmen under the alias of the Yorkshire Giant. After touring many fairs up and down the country, including the Hull Fair, he parted from his minder by 1815 to manage himself. He would charge a shilling for each person to visit him in a room which he hired in various towns. He was presented before King George III at Windsor who gave him a large golden watch on a chain, which he wore for the rest of his life. Bradley died in 1820, in his hometown of Market Weighton, at the age of 33. He was buried inside the church because of fears of graverobbing. His house still stands on Market Hill.
