"Duara Suarga," or Gate of Heaven, is sometimes inscribed at the entrance of these buildings. But an intelligent traveller says that the stealthy glances at a horrific group of diabolical idols, the strange noises, and the unequal and lurid flashes of light, when all around is darkness, made it much more like what imagination might picture as the entrance of the infernal regions [ie, Hell].
