The building of the all-soviet Lenin library (ex-Pashovskiy house, later - Rumyantsev museum). The second half of 18th century. Lenin Library is one of the most prominent architectural sites of Old Moscow. The building is unique and combining monumental and light styles together with clarity of classic style and the festivity of baroque. The architect (the presumed architect is Bazhenov) used a high hill as a pedestal on top of which there are slim facades surmounted by a light, round shaped belvedere. The strict separation of the building in 3 parts does not affect the organic unity since the building is connected by its ground floor. Moscow. Bazhenov V.I., 1737-1799.
