Orig. bildtext... KARIBA DAM NEARS COMPLETION. After the nearly disasterous floods of last March, the Dam across the Zambezi River at Kariba, Rhodesia, South Africa is now taking final shape. The dam, due to be comissioned in January 1960, will be 420ft high, 1900ft long, and wide enough to take a 40ft roadway. It will create a reservoir on the Zambezi River 175 miles long, covering about 2,000 square miles. Anm.
