Indonesia / Sumatra: Teuku Panglima Polem Sri Muda Perkasa Muhammad Daud, aka Panglima Polim or 'Commander Polim' (?-1929), Raja of Sigli, in 1928. Aceh War (1873-1914)

The Aceh War, also known as the Dutch War or the Infidel War (1873–1914), was an armed military conflict between the Sultanate of Aceh and the Netherlands which was triggered by discussions between representatives of Aceh and the United Kingdom in Singapore during early 1873. The war was part of a series of conflicts in the late 19th century that consolidated Dutch rule over modern-day Indonesia. Panglima Polim was an Acehnese commander who fought against the Dutch from the time of the First Aceh Expedition (1873) to 1903, when he surrenderd to Captain Hendricus Colijn at Lhokseumawe, together with 150 of his men. He was given the post of Raja of Sigli by the Dutch. In 1928, Panglima Polim received the cross of Nassau-Oranje Orde.
