JUAN ALAMINOS. SPANISH ARTIST OF THE SECOND HALF OF THE 19TH CENTURY.. Giulio Alberoni (1664-1752). Italian diplomat, statesman and cardinal of the Catholic Church. Appointed official representative of the Duke of Parma in April 1713. He was the principal adviser to King Philip V of Spain. Quarrel between Cardinal Alberoni and the Mayordomo mayor of the King, duke of Escalona, during the illness of Philip V. No one was allowed to enter the Royal Chamber except those authorised by the queen and Alberoni. Alberoni asked the Duke of Escalona not to enter the room, to which the latter became indignant.
