Margaret Nicholson, c. 1750 1828. Englishwoman who attempted to assassinate King George III with a dessert knife in 1786. The King was uninjured. Nicholson apparently considered herself heir to the throne. She was certified insane and committed to Bethlem Royal Hospital where she died 42 years later.
