'Fifteen hundred of the emperor's largest horses, each about four inches and a half high, were employed to draw me towards the metropolis, which, as I said, was half a mile distant'. A scene from "Gulliver's Travels" by Jonathan Swift, first published in 1726. One of a series of 12 'Superior Lithographic Coloured Lantern Slides...with Lecture complete', made in England c1870-1900.
