The man who shot him down, Secret Service man Floyd Boring, is at right. Collazo and a fellow-terrorist, Griselio Torresola, tried to shoot their way into Blair House to kill the president. GUNMAN FELLED TRYING TO SHOOT WAY INTO BLAIR HOUSE Wash.D.C. Shown is one of two gunmen who were shot down outside Blair House today after they made a frantic shooting effort to get up the Blair House steps and into the presidential residence. One gunman shot through the head, presumably dead, was identified as Marion R. Preston. The other was identified as Oscar Olliskin. Police said one of the two men carried letters in a foreign language. President Truman was in Blair House during the shooting which occured shortly before he was to leave for a ceremony atArlington cemetry. Three police officers were struck by the assailants' bullets. White House policeman H.W. Francis said that the raging gun battle was apparently an attempt to assassinate president Truman. Anm.
