![[ 1920s Japan - Jiji Manga Comics 264 ] Jiji Manga (), a comics supplement developed by famed Japanese artist Kitazawa Rakuten ( , 18761955), often called the 'father of manga'. Issue 264 of May 17, 1926 (Taisho 15). Jiji manga was first published by daily newspaper Jiji Shinpo () in January 1902 (Meiji 35). It grew into a full-color Sunday supplement in the 1920s.
