Bouquet in a Chinese Vase. Artist: Odilon Redon (French, Bordeaux 1840-1916 Paris). Dimensions: 25 1/2 x 19 5/8 in. (64.8 x 49.8 cm). Date: ca. 1912-14.

Redon owned a variety of vases, which his wife, Camille, used in arranging the bouquets that formed the subject of his late still-life paintings. The delicately patterned white vessel depicted in this work appears in several other pictures, including The Met's <i>Vase of Flowers (Pink Background) </i> of about 1906 (59.16.3).
