Statue of Prince Albert, Memorial of the Great Exhibition, Royal Horticultural Society's Gardens. South Kensington, London, late 19th century. The statue, designed by Joseph Durham, was unveiled in 1863. It was made to commemorate Prince Albert's (1819-1861) Great Exhibition of 1851. Originally sited in the gardens of the Royal Horticultural Society, it was later moved to its present location at the Albert Hall.
