John Lambert (d1538), English Protestant martyr, burnt at the stake at Smithfield, London, 22 November 1538. Trial of Lambert before Henry VIII. Considered a heretic by both Roman Catholic and the new Church of England as he did not accept the doctrine of Transubstantiation.
