Storm Chaser Tim Samaras

Veteran storm chaser Tim Samaras, far right, monitors the weather from his chase vehicle with colleagues Carl Young (center) and Jon Davies in 2005. Samaras, an esteemed scientist and noted tornado researcher, died with his son Paul and longtime chase partner Young while intercepting a violent twister near El Reno, Oklahoma on May 31, 2013. Samaras and Young were also known from the Discovery Channel show "Storm Chasers," which aired for five years.
