With Wingate's Guerillas Behind The Japanese Lines: Major Bernard Ferguson, Black Watch, who led one of the "Chindits" columns of the Jungle Penetration Force. Under the command of Brigadier Charles Orde Wingate, a small force of British soldiers recently carried out a successful expedition in Burma. After an absence of three months they returned to the British lines with valuable information regarding the Japanese dispositions and defenses. July 7, 1943.
