Trabeculated Bone, Vertebra Cross-Section

A cross-section of the lumbar vertebra is demonstrated. The outer edges of the vertebra consists of thick cortical bone. The inner portion of the vertebra consists of trabeculated or spongy bone. The marrow within these trabeculations have been removed, showing only bone.
