Caption: Ali ibn Hammud al-Nasir (d. 1018). Sixth caliph of the Caliphate of Córdoba (1016-1018). He was appointed governor of Ceuta by Caliph Sulayman al-Musta'in. Ali ibn Hammud conspired against the Caliph Sulayman al-Musta'in and, after gaining entry into Córdoba, was proclaimed Caliph on 1 July 1016.
