Prisoners cutting grass at Wormwood Scrubs prison, London, c1900-1950. Various parts of the 'Scrubs' were built using prison labour between 1874 and 1891. It was the first prison to use the Telegraph Pole layout. Here prisoners are working on the prison gardens. Note that the uniforms of the inmates still bear their characteristic arrows.
