Stede Bonnet, English Pirate

Stede Bonnet AKA the Gentleman Pirate (1688 - 1718) was an Englishman, who with no prior shipboard life, decided to become a pirate. He bought a ship, named it Revenge, and traveled along the American eastern seaboard, looting Barbadian ships. He met Blackbeard in Nassau and together they plundered merchant ships. Bonnet was eventually captured, found guilty of piracy, and hanged in Charleston.
