LLIMONA, JOSEP (1863-1934); GAUDI, ANTONI (1852-1926); OLIVA, ANTONI. Sagrada Familia (Crypt): Altarpiece of the central altar of the sculptor Josep Llimona, with the frame made by Gaudí and decorated by Antoni Oliva. This altarpiece represents the Holy Family with the adolescent Jesus kissing St. Joseph's hand in front of a carpenter's table, while the Virgin watches the scene. At the top of the golden frame Gaudí put the inscription "amen" that also appears on the sides along with the anagram "JMJ" in reference to Jesus, Mary and Joseph. This relief is identical to the oak wood that was in the oratory of Casa Batlló, also by Josep Llimona, and that is now in the chapel of the Sacrament of the same temple. 1906.
