Mustafa IV, Ottoman Emperor, 1808. Mustafa (1779-1808) became Sultan in 1807 after the overthrow of Selim III. Continuing support for Selim led to a revolt, prompting Mustafa to have him murdered. Mustafa was then deposed himself and replaced by Mahmud II. From A series of Portraits of the Emperors of Turkey, 1808.
