Mary, Joseph and three angels Joseph with Three Musician Angels, Fragment from the Marian Altar of the Illustrious Brotherhood of Our Blessed Lady in Den Bosch, On a strongly rising ground and in front of a raised wall three kneel to the left pointed angels: one slides both hands over the double row of keys of an open clavichord and seems to sing in the process, the angel in the front left, happily watching, holds a feather against the shoulder, the third leans forward with joyful curiosity and plays the lute. Behind them, Joseph leans forward with serious interest, holding the right hand to the head for the removal of a headgear (which was lost). He is dressed in monk's clothing, the hood of which has fallen back, the angels wear graded alben, Joseph and the new-born Christ (Nativity), adoration of the Christ-child by Mary and Joseph, angels singing, making music, 's-Hertogenbosch, Adriaen van Wesel, Utrecht, c. 1475 - c. 1477, oak (wood), h 45.3 cm × w 37.5 cm × d 23.5 cm.
