Didiee...In the part of Leonora, Madame Jenny Ney even deepened the impression which she made last year...Since Mr. Gye has obtained the occupation of the Lyceum Theatre he has done wonders in its renovation. The whole aspect of its interior has been changed...The whole of the front of the boxes has undergone complete regilding and painting...All the original boxes have been divided into three by a slender partition...The small chandeliers...have been removed, and a central chandelier of ample dimensions substituted: it has been supplied by Kirby, of Greek-street. The decoration of the house is by Ponsonby, of Piccadilly...'. From "Illustrated London News", 1856.
