Helmut Kohl at Berlin Airlift Monument during farewell of western Allies

German chancellor Helmut Kohl puts down a wreath at the Airlift Monument in Berlin-Tempelhof during the official farewell ceremony for the western Allies in Berlin on the 8th of September in 1994, during which he commemorated the victims of the embago of Berlin. 
Besides Kohl, the French and British heads of states, Mitterand and Major, as well as US foreign minister Warren Christopher, participated in the festivities.
Like Russia did, the governments of the western Allies withdrew all troops from Berlin after 49 years in the end of 1994. 08/09/1994
