Caption: France, Paris. Reception of lots for the National Lottery, to be drawn on 10 January 1879 at the Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées (Great Palace of the Elysian Fields). Delivery and sorting of the lots in the Great Salon of the palace. The exposition of them opened on December 25, 1878. The central stall contained the most valuable lots, where temporary counters were placed, marked with the letters of the alphabet, in which the objects were deposited and inscribed. Drawing by Comba.
