Johore Prince To Wed English Girl -- Engagement of 24-year-old Prince Mahmud, grandson of the Sultan of Johore, and Miss Josephine Trevorrow, 21, of Torquay, England, was announced this week. The couple, pictured here, met last spring in Torquay, where the Prince was studying local government. Consent to his daughter's marriage was given by Josephine's father in April. Now the Sultan has given "tentative approval." Josephine is herself in Johore, where she flew shortly before Christmas to pass the festival with the prince -- she calls him "Chick" -- and his family. The couple await the opinion of the Johore council of Ministers on their marriage plans. The prince is second in line of succession to the throne. January 4, 1955.
