Portrait of Maddalena Doni; oil painting on wood, by Italian Renaissance master (Raphael) Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (1483-1520). probably painted in 1506, shortly after Raphael had arrived in Florence. The influence of Leonardo da Vinci, can be seen in the use of sfumato. The painting belonged to Ferdinand III, Grand Duke of Tuscany It is housed in the Pitti Palace in Florence. Agnolo Doni married Maddalena Strozzi in 1503, but Raphael's portrait was probably executed in 1506, the period in which the painter studied the art of Leonardo da Vinci most closely.
