First And Latest Train Engines

Washington DC, May 25, 1937, The oldest and newest trains are shown at Union Station. On the left is the Tom Thumb engine which went all of 10 mph when it was first used in 1829. Next to it is the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad's newest diesel engine which will pull the Capitol Limited Pullman train between Washington and Chicago at 75 mph.
