SMYTH. Weston-super-Mare Regatta, from the sea - drawn by Condy, 1845. Boat races off the Somerset coast. In the centre covered in signal flags is 'Ganymede' saluting, and on the right in full sail is 'Lily of Devon'. '...the wind having somewhat gone down, the [flagship] Ganymede again arrived in the bay, and the same tide brought up the Lily of Devon, W. F. Moore, Esq., of the R.W.Y C. [Royal Western Yacht Club], she having, in spite of every difficulty, rounded the point'. From "Illustrated London News", 1845, Vol VII.
