The Tree of Tenere (Acacia sp.), Niger

The Tree of Tenere (Acacia sp.), or L'Arbre du Tenere, was the only tree to be seen for hundreds of miles in the Sahara desert of Niger. The remains of several camels can be seen here beneath it. The tree was struck down by a truck in 1973.
