Spanish: Spit, Spanish, 18th–19th century, Iron, This wrought iron object was created by a Spanish craftsperson in the 18th or 19th century. It takes the shape of a horse and rider perched above fleur-de-lis scroll work. A spit for roasting meat would have been placed in the rack created by the horse's tail.
