Abandoned The Ministry of Supply have announced today that orders for the production of the new Vickers-Armstrong long-range jet transport aircraft, the V.1000, have been cancelled. They say the question of re-equipping Transport Command of the R.A.F. has been under review and as a result, the orders given for the V.1000 have been cancelled. The Bristol Britainnia is to equip the Command. This picture shows the Vickers V.1000 as it would have appeared in flight. November 11, 1955.
