The Mercy Seat, God the father sits frontally on a couch with the crucified Christ in front of him. From his mouth the Holy Spirit, in the form of a dove, flies down to the head of Christ. God the Father, whose head leans slightly to the left, stares straight ahead with a soft expression. His hair falls on the back, the long mustache hangs down the corners of the mouth. The slightly bent right arm is raised, with the left hand he will have held the cross. Christ's body bends slightly to the left, the thorn-crowned head with half-opened mouth lies against the right shoulder. God the Father wears, over a robe that is received around the waist like a choir shirt, a wide cloak that falls open through the spread arms, but which comes together between the knees and hangs over the couch and knees in large folds. The toes of the left foot appear under the cloak.
