Feudal castle of the proud Shoguns, Osaka, Japan, 1904. One of the most famous castles in Japan, Osaka Castle was built in the late 16th century by the Toyotomi clan. In 1615 it fell to the army of Tokugawa Ieyasu, who founded the Tokugawa Shogunate that ruled Japan until 1868. Tokugawa Ieyasu's son and heir, Tokugawa Hidetada, rebuilt and stregthened the castle in the 1620s. Stereoscopic card. Detail.
