Ewart Potgieter - The World's Tallest Boxer South African-born Ewart Potgieter, seven feet two inches in height, has created quite a stir in the boxing world. In his fifteen-month career he has knocked out no less than seven heavyweights, all over six feet tall. At present in England, he is training hard for his fight with the Italian, Antonio Crosia, at London's White City Stadium on September 13th, 1955. Being abnormally tall has its drawbacks, both for Potgieter and for more normal-sized people, as this photograph of the heavyweight enjoying a.few hours relaxation in a cinema shows. September 06, 1955. (Photo by Camera Press).
