Prince Albert Victor, Duke of Clarence and Avondale, 1864 – 1892. Eldest child of Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII). His name was linked with The Cleveland Street scandal which occurred in 1889, when a homosexual male brothel in Cleveland Street, Fitzrovia, London, was discovered by police. From The Century Edition of Cassell's History of England, published c. 1900.
