Portrait of a Doctor (probably Ludovico Settala), by Fede Galizia, 1600-1610 about, 17th Century, oil on canvas, cm 54 x 42. Italy, Lombardy, Milan, Private Collection. All. Doctor half length portrayed, on three quarter. He holds a skull, memento mori, symbol of the vanitas, but also of the healer profession. He wears a black suit with white ruff and cuffs highlighted by the light. Beard and hairs are white and well trim. Light blue veins at the temples.
