Sigismond Laskowski (January 19, 1841 - April 15, 1928) a Polish anatomist exiled in Paris and professor of anatomy in Geneva, published in 1894 Anatomie Normale du Corps Humain with 16 color plates, prints of which were used for teaching purposes. Laskowski became a renowned embalmer and considerably improved the preservation of bodies through his inventions of arterial injection of sodium borate and glycerin, the use of phenol, and venous drainage.
