The handle is of gilt metal, the cross-pieces representing the Lion and the Unicorn. The Scabbard is decorated with diamonds, rubies and emeralds in designs of the Rose, the Thistle and the Shamrock. At the Coronation the Peer who carries the Chamberlain, who in exchange hands over the Jewelled Sword.
