Wedding of Miss Pamela Anne Meaker, 22 year old daughter of the late Mr Edgar Jesse Meaker, a founder of the chain of men's wear shops, to Mr William Soulsby Payne, 30, took place in St Mary's Church, Ramsden Bellhouse, near Billericay, Essex, where the bridegroom lives, today, Tuesday. The bride's uncle and guardian, Mr Benjamin Meaker, who started the outfitting business with his brother Edgar, was not present at the wedding and the bride was given away by her brother. The bridegroom is the son of Mr John R Payne, retired company director and amateur yachtsman, and has known his bride since they were children.
