Admiralty Arch, Whitehall and Horse Guards Parade, Westminster, London, 2002. Artist: EH / RCHME staff photographer

Admiralty Arch, Whitehall and Horse Guards Parade, Westminster, London, 2002. Admiralty Arch marks the end of The Mall. It was built in 1910 as part of the memorial scheme to Queen Victoria. It has three main arches, the central one only being used for ceremonial purposes. Looking down Whitehall it is possible to see Horse Guards Parade, where the Trooping of the Colour takes place. Past this is the group of houses that make up Downing Street.
