Mars, Roman God of War

Mars (or Ares in Ancient Greece), Roman god of war, rides his chariot drawn by the dogs of war over a scene of armed conflict on the ground below. Also note the astronomical symbol for the planet Mars, which is the same symbol for the male sex, as well as the alchemical symbol for iron. Its shape is derived from Mars' sword and shield.
