Title: Plague Pamphlet, Great Plague of London, 1625
Caption: 'A Rod for Run-awayes', colorized title page of a 1625 pamphlet by Thomas Dekker (c. 1572 - August 25 1632). The illustration shows the Great Plague of London. God's wrath is in the form of a lightning bolt. At left, people die in fields. At right, city-dwellers attempt to flee, followed by Death (in the form of a skeleton), but are met by armed men protecting suburban districts.
