Aquamanile in the form of a lion Aquamanile in the form of a lion Lion-aquamanile, The object cast in cire perdue technique and largely adorned with the shape of a lion with a dragon as its handle. The details are outstretched (the mane, the locks on the legs, the tail of the lion), engraved (the wings of the dragon) or punched (the mustache of the lion, the back and the tail of the dragon). The dragon is connected to the head, the back and the tail of the lion. The lion looking ahead has an animal head in its mouth, which acts as a spout. A more or less rectangular piece has been sawn into the lion's head, on which a flap attached with a hinge is arranged in order to be able to fill the object with water. The animal has protruding ears and roughly indicated manes that cover the neck and head. The two legs and the head of the dragon are placed in the lion's neck. Two wings are indicated on the body of the dragon. The lion's tail, whose onset is marked by two strands of hair, is divided in two in the middle by a bulge. The lower tail section is serrated, the upper tail section is decorated with flames. The front legs are provided with six, the hind legs (initially) with four strands of hair. The claws are clear but roughly modeled. A rectangular piece was inserted on the chest under the fur locks after the casting core had been removed. The onset of about ten rectangular casting needles and three round casting improvements can be seen on the body and head. The upper part of the right hind leg is dented. Old repairs are the flap, the left leg of the dragon, the right hind leg of the lion (which means it has five hair pieces), a part in the lower part of the chest, the dented part between the front legs. The seriously damaged abdomen and the inside of the upper leg of the left hind leg (including a hole) were restored in 1982, beasts of prey, predatory animals: lion, Johannes Apengeter (attributed to), Lübeck, c. 1330 - c. 1335, copper alloy, sawing, h 29.5 cm × l 39.
