Andesite Porphyry

Andesites are igneous rocks composed mainly of plagioclase feldspar (such as andesite or oligoclase) and various other dark minerals, such as biotite, hornblende or pyroxene. Multiple stages of cooling allow the formation of larger crystals (slow cooling) within a finer-grained 'groundmass' (more rapid cooling).
