Cabinet of Amalia von Solms Cabinet of Amalia van Solms, Cabinet entirely covered with turtle and ivory with the monogram of Amalia van Solms (1602-1675) and Frederik Hendrik (1584-1647). The rectangular cabinet has two doors, behind which an interior with ten drawers and a small door in the middle. The doors show a pattern of ivory on a turtle on the front, in which various symbols are incorporated, such as a heart of orange branches, a thorn wreath, monsters and snakes, angels and pelicans who open their breasts to feed their young. On the inside of the doors the same pattern is applied in turtle on ivory. The sides and top show a pattern of stylized flower vines, in ivory on turtle on the sides and vice versa on the top. On the drawer front is the crowned monogram HAVO, for Hendrik and Amalia Van Oranje, placed under a canopy, placed behind a balustrade with bins with orange trees. The monogram is in a column architecture with a checkered floor, with left and right perspectives through open doors. The drawers are covered with paper that is black on the outside and red on the inside. The inside of the furniture is covered with a red cloth. The rosewood undercarriage has five slung columns with ivory clad discs as bases and capitals. They carry the concave and convex arched top lines and rest on blocks that are connected by angular rungs inlaid with tendrils motifs. The base rests on five ball legs, foliage, tendrils, branches, ornament, ornament derived from animal forms, Amalia van Solms, Frederik Hendrik (Prince of Orange), Willem de Rots, The Hague, c. 1652 - c. 1657, kabinet, voet, h 65 cm × w 104 cm × d 40 cm h 80 cm × w 111.5 cm × d 44 cm h 145 cm × w 111.5 cm × d 44 cm.
